We’re really pleased to be able to offer hands-on Roman blind making courses, designed to teach you all the skills you need to create beautiful blinds for your own home.

1-day group course
Join a small group of just 4 people and make a sample Roman blind from start to finish. You’ll learn professional techniques and leave confident to make your own at home.

Private project bookings
Have a specific blind you’d love to make? You can also book us privately and work on your own project. The number of days needed will depend on the size and complexity of your blind, so these bookings are arranged after a chat with us about what you’d like to make.

Roman Blinds

1-day group course

Our one-day Roman blind course is perfect if you’ve ever wanted to learn how to make a Roman blind properly, using professional techniques in a relaxed, supportive setting. The course takes place in my studio at Up Studios, right in the heart of Bristol.

You’ll spend the day creating a small sample Roman blind, which you’ll take home with you at the end of the course. Alongside this, you’ll receive a detailed worksheet to guide you through the process again, so you can confidently recreate Roman blinds for your own home.

The course is run in a small group, giving you plenty of hands-on guidance, time to ask questions, and individual support throughout the day. All fabrics and materials are provided, so you can focus fully on learning and enjoying the process.

Time: 9:30am – 4:00pm
Cost: £120 per person
Location: Up Studios, Bristol

Private project bookings

If you have a specific Roman blind project in mind, our private project bookings offer a fully tailored, one-to-one experience. These sessions are ideal if you’d like to work on a blind for your own home or develop more advanced skills at your own pace.

Private bookings take place in my studio at Up Studios, using the same professional setup as our group courses. You’ll work closely with me throughout the day, focusing entirely on your individual project and learning goals.

Because every blind is different, all private bookings begin with a chat before confirming your place. This allows us to discuss the size and complexity of your blind, how many days will be needed, and what you’d like to achieve. The number of days required will depend on your project, and bookings are arranged accordingly.

As well as making your own Roman blind, private sessions can be customised to include additional skills, such as:

Cascade (waterfall) Roman blinds
Adding trims, borders, or decorative details
Refining finishing techniques for a more professional result.
